What is the purpose for Vermont and other universities to employ these slides? I want to know the justification of these slides. I guess their avant-garde approach for motions is to prevent the banality of motions. In a recent debate, a motion of Iran came up and everyone groaned. Yet, the debaters and I who is also culpable could not debate the motion as well as we could have. More importantly the debaters are supposed to articulate their arguments in the public sphere.
